Biography

My name is Devron Andersen. My first name sounds like Chevron but with a “D”.

My Roots

I am a proud son of an American mother and a Kiwi immigrant (New Zealander) father. My parents are incredible and have lived the American Dream. They raised me in a faith centered home and taught me to cherish freedom and conservative values.

I am the youngest of nine siblings. Seven of the nine siblings have lived in Cache Valley and have called it home. I learned to fight for everything! I look up to and admire my siblings. Trying to live by their example and be like them has helped me strive to be better than I am.

Twenty years ago, I married into the Maughan family, and into Cache County, where I have loved living and raising my family. I feel blessed that my four children have roots that go pioneer deep in Cache County. I enjoy the support of an amazing wife and I truly would be lost in this world without her!

Five years ago my wife and I built our forever home in Mendon and cannot imagine life anywhere other than Cache County!

Education

In high school I learned how to draft. This acquired skill proved to be a pivotal component that led me into the profession of Land Surveying. I completed an associates degree in Surveying from Salt Lake Community College in 2010. In 2011 I completed all apprenticeship and testing requirements to get professionally licensed as a land surveyor in the State of Utah.

Career

In 2012 I became the Logan City Surveyor in the Logan City Engineering department. In 2015 I accepted a position as the Chief Deputy Recorder/Surveyor of Weber County. In 2021 I took office as the Elected Cache County Recorder. In 2023 I had to reluctantly resign from my full time position as County Recorder for a position as a Professional Land Surveyor in the private sector which would better support my growing family.
